Series Description: Contagion of Joy was born during the heaviness of COVID—a time when the world felt quiet, uncertain, and low-spirited. I remember thinking about the nurses and caregivers who carried us through that darkness, and about how desperately we all needed moments of lightness. So I began painting laughter. Each woman in this series holds her own radiant, contagious joy, reminding us that even in difficult times, joy can spread too. Through their smiles, their colors, and their energy, I wanted to lift spirits—my own included—and offer a small spark of hope, connection, and brightness when we all needed it most.
